  • What is BritCham Indonesia?

    • The British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia or as we are fondly known as ‘BritCham’ established to be the leading business international membership association. We promote and facilitate trade and investment growth between Britain and Indonesia through our diverse network. We offer various categories of membership with benefits to suit your company’s needs.

  • How to join BritCham membership?

    • Please click HERE and HERE to see our latest membership proposition and HERE for the online membership application form for you to complete and submit. Upon the submission, the team will contact you further for the next processes.

  • How long is the BritCham membership period?

    • Each membership lasts for 12 months (if you sign up in December 2020, your membership period will be Dec 2020 – Nov 2021)

  • As a BritCham member, can I access the BritCham membership directory?

    • Yes, you can. The BritCham membership directory is available on our website. As it is a restricted area, you will need to enter our website using a login access. This access is only available to our members’ nominees. Click here to access the page.

  • What is a nominee?

    • A nominee is a delegate of the member company. Nominees have access to nearly all areas in their own right.

  • Can we share our products/services among the BritCham communities?

    • Products/services announcement is a privilege of membership! Your announcement can be made through our weekly e-newsletter, ‘Snapshots’. Please contact our Sales & Marketing team at salesmkt@britcham.or.id

  • Does BritCham have any other promotional channels we can explore to promote our products/services?

    • Yes, we have. But it may be on a chargeable basis. Options include:

      • BritCham’s event sponsorship opportunities
      • BritCham’s business services
      • BritCham’s advertising in website, AGM or GBBI Handbook

      All rates for members are heavily discounted.

  • How to promote our company’s event on BritCham’s channel?

    • Company’s event promotion is a privilege of membership. We will promote your event in our weekly e-newsletter, Snapshots. We need 2 weeks notice to get your event add to a Snapshots database of around 5000.

  • Can we propose a speaker at the BritCham event/webinar?

    • Yes, you can IF you are a member. You will be required to provide us with the speaker details (Name and position), topic recommendation, points of discussion, 1 short paragraph of event/webinar narrative and identify the take-aways for attendees.

      Note:

      • Content of discussion should represent insights, recommendations, and solutions related to the current issues.
      • There is no charge for this, all speakers/panelists will be treated fairly and without branding exclusivity.
      • Format: usually a panel discussion – other options could be considered.
      • Our Executive Director would probably need to discuss your proposal with you.
  • How to join as a panelist on the BritCham event/webinar?

    • It’s by invitation ONLY (member first). If the prerequisite level of expertise is not available within our membership, we may look outside for best options.

  • If your company is sponsoring our particular event/webinar, can you get the opportunity to join the panel?

      • Usually, yes. But this requires approval from the BritCham Management team.
      • The person you are proposing must have expertise related with the topic discussion.
  • How many nominees are entitled for each corporate member?

      • Corporate Premier: 20 nominees
      • Corporate Classic: 7 nominees
      • Corporate Standard: 3 nominees
      • Indonesia Non-Profit Institution: 3 nominees
      • International Associate Corporate: 3 nominees
      • Indonesian Regional Corporate: 3 nominees
  • Are the nominees only applicable for Director levels and above only?

    • Anyone in any positions can be a nominee.

  • How can I see the upcoming BritCham Webinars/Events?

  • Who can get access to YIPA (Young Indonesian Professionals’ Association) CV’s portal?

    • BritCham has collaborated with YIPA (Young Indonesian Professionals’ Association) in the UK since 2018. We have posted more than 150 CVs of top returning talent from UK universities. This exclusive access is eligible for Premier members and Special Category sponsors only.

  • How many sectors does BritCham have in its membership community?

    • We have approximately over 18+ sectors across our membership, from professional business services, manufacturing, banking, insurance, retail, hospitality, F&B, oil & gas, property, construction and many more. Please click HERE to see our latest membership overview for more details.

  • I would like to attend BritCham’s events. How could I register?

    • You may simply go to our ‘upcoming events’ page, click on the event you are interested in, then you will be directed to our registration page.

  • Are BritCham events free of charge?

    • It depends on the event. Fee apply to most of our offline events. There is always a special price for members. However, most of our webinars (online events) remain free – member bookings take priority; non-member are also welcome. Non-member access to Climate Change, Smart Cities and Human Capital & Education member focus groups are chargeable.

  • What is the BritCham Business Centre?

    • We are a business unit within BritCham Indonesia, which is a delivery partner of the Department for International Trade (DIT) at the British Embassy Jakarta. Our main focus is to assist British companies and institutions that are looking to expand their presence in the Indonesian market. Our assistance spans across all sectors, particularly Business-to-Business (B2B) relations.

  • If I am a British business, how can the BritCham Business Centre help me export?

    • We can support you through various bespoke assistance that best suit your requirements such as: market research, visit programme, trade show/exhibition assistance and event management.   • If I am representing a trade association/group, how can we collaborate with BritCham Business Centre?

  • What type of legal entity do I need for doing business in Indonesia?

    • The options are: Established Foreign Company (PT PMA – Penanaman Modal Asing) that allows you to generate revenue, profit or engage in sales directly in Indonesia, Representative Office if want to explore business opportunities in Indonesia for your foreign company (through market research, networking, etc.) without engaging in commercial transactions and Local Partner/Distributor as your in-market representative who will handle your administrative works and commercial transaction in Indonesia.

  • Will language barriers hinder my market access journey into Indonesia?

    • Although English is not the first language in Indonesia, most businesses located in capital cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya have business-level of English proficiency. However for meetings with state-owned enterprises and government institutions ideally an Indonesian representative should be present. Our team remains at your disposal should you require this assistance.

Our focus is to assis Indonesian students who are looking to continue further study in the UK. The assistance we provide starts from university selection to internship and first job placement guidance.

  • How can BritCham Education Centre help me to pursue my further study in the UK?

    • We will assist you with a selection of university based on a number of factors, mainly: your interests, universities' graduate employability rank as well as employer preferences.
