Minister Nadiem Calls for Education Stakeholders in the UK to Participate in the Government’s Programmes

On the 9th of May 2023, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, hosted a Forum in London to share about some updates on Indonesia’s Higher Education priorities and partnership opportunities.

The Forum was attended by BritCham’s private sector members, selected BritCham Education Centre’s university partners and other invited stakeholders in the UK.

On this occassion, the Minister shared five policies to transform Higher Education sector in Indonesia such as a fully accreditated programme (1 semester) outside campus via Kampus Merdeka programme, funding opportunties for research and academic partnerships etc.

It was also outlined during the Forum that the Ministry’s goals are by 2024, 1 million students and 5,000 both local and international instituttions join the Kampus Merdeka programme. Therefore, Minister Nadiem calls for education stakeholders in the UK to participate in the Government’s programmes.
