The British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia Reaffirms Its Vision with Leadership Transitions Aligned for Growth

 

Jakarta, 24 June 2025 – The British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (BritCham Indonesia) held its 2025 Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, at The Dharmawangsa Hotel, Jakarta. The meetings marked a significant leadership transition with the formal conferral of the Honorary President title to HMA Dominic Jermey CVO OBE, British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste and the introduction of new Board Members for the 2025–2026 term. The event brought together representatives from across BritCham’s diverse corporate membership, reaffirming the Chamber’s commitment to advancing UK–Indonesia economic collaboration.

The meetings served as an important platform for BritCham members to reflect on the Chamber’s progress and strategic priorities, while also shaping the direction for the year ahead. Members gathered in strong numbers, reinforcing a collective commitment to inclusive representation, institutional engagement, and member-driven growth.

The election process concluded with unanimous support from members. The Chairman formally declared the new Management Board for the 2025–2026 term, expressed appreciation to the outgoing Board Members for their service, and extended congratulations to those newly appointed.

Honorary President Appointment

A moment of special recognition was dedicated to His Majesty’s Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, HMA Dominic Jermey CVO OBE, who was formally conferred the title of Honorary President of BritCham Indonesia. This appointment reflects the Chamber’s deep appreciation for the longstanding partnership and support extended by the British Embassy. The conferment symbolises a shared commitment to fostering bilateral relations and meaningful engagement between British and Indonesian stakeholders. The Ambassador delivered closing remarks, marking a dignified and memorable conclusion to the formal proceedings.

With renewed leadership in place, BritCham Indonesia is well-positioned to advance strategic initiatives that prioritise market insight, strengthened advocacy, and tangible value for its members. The meetings concluded with a cocktail reception, offering members and stakeholders the opportunity to connect and network in a more relaxed setting.
