Framing The RI-EU CEPA: an update on priorities and progress, as well as discussion about UK's post-Brexit FTA position

The Republic of Indonesia and the EU confirmed their mutual determination to advance CEPA (Cooperation of Economic Partnership Agreement) at the EIBD in November.

KADIN and APINDO are charged with researching and framing the main points that are of particular interest to Indonesia in the context of strengthening its trade opportunities.

Our speaker for this BritCham Breakfast Briefing is Mr. Wahyuni Bahar (*click to access speaker's bio) who has the responsibility of preparing the KADIN/APINDO brief to be passed up to President Jokowi. This briefing also represents the first output from the new BritGroup alliance – a  working group that is a collaboration between the BritCham Board and the KADIN international committees.

This topic is of particular relevance to British business. Whilst the UK will input into the CEPA as a member of the EU, it may be that the UK will not be a part of the EU and the Customs Union at the time that a CEPA may be concluded. Undoubtedly, the EU CEPA would most likely form the basis of any subsequent UK- Republic of Indonesia FTA.

We encourage an executive audience with significant British interest that will be highly interactive.
