Jakarta — The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) has stated its readiness to connect micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the plantation sector with potential business partners, investors, and members of the public interested in developing commodity-based plantation businesses.
Head of BPDP’s Community and MSME Cooperation Division, Helmi Muhansah, said the agency remains committed to supporting the development of plantation MSMEs through various programmes focused on enhancing business capacity, expanding market access, and strengthening the downstreaming of plantation commodities.
“Indonesia’s plantation commodities have significant potential to be developed into value-added products,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
One of BPDP’s efforts to connect plantation MSMEs with investors and potential business partners is through the Info Franchise & Business Concept (IFBC) exhibition, themed “Grow Beyond Boundaries”, held at Jogja Expo Center in Yogyakarta from 3 to 5 July 2026.
At the IFBC exhibition, BPDP presented hundreds of business opportunities to the wider public, aiming to support the advancement of MSMEs and strengthen their contribution to the national economy through innovation and collaboration.
Helmi added that the event reflects BPDP’s commitment to promoting downstreaming and increasing the added value of plantation commodities by strengthening the capacity of MSME players.
“This is an important opportunity for BPDP to bring together plantation MSMEs with potential business partners, investors, and members of the public who are interested in developing businesses based on plantation commodities,” he said.
According to Helmi, IFBC serves as a strategic platform to introduce a range of leading plantation commodity-based products to the public, business players, and prospective investors.
“We hope this event will open up more opportunities for collaboration and encourage plantation MSMEs to continue growing, innovating, and moving up the value chain,” he said.
He further expressed hope that more entrepreneurs would emerge who are able to transform Indonesia’s plantation potential into innovative, competitive products with strong appeal in both national and global markets.
“We continue to encourage Indonesian plantation products to become more competitive and reach wider markets,” Helmi said.
BPDP also hopes that more people, particularly young people and aspiring entrepreneurs, will view the plantation sector not only as a producer of primary commodities, but also as a source of innovation and sustainable business opportunities.
